A serious adventurer will have this mountain climbing activity in his bucket list. To be able to make it to the top successfully and descend to the bottom requires a good deal of fitness. Thus, training for Kilimanjaro is essential. This will need a good deal of aerobic exercises. These help to strengthen the heart. One should also build strength and endurance. These two are important ingredients of success.

There are fitness activities that a person can do from the comfort of home without the need for any equipment. These include push ups and press-ups. These simple measures facilitate fitness. Actually, they do not require any financial investment. The goal of a person should be giving the body sufficient resistance when one is doing a particular type of exercise.

One needs to hit the road. This might involve running, biking and hiking. Running will have a ton of benefits to a person who is planning to climb a big mountain. This is because it trains every single part of the body. Biking on hilly or rough terrain is highly recommended for mountaineers. One should also use the stairs in exercising.

Only a fit individual can successfully ascent and descent from a high mountain. There is need to prepare the body for a mountaineering expedition. One must also prepare the mind and the brain. Mountaineering is part physical and part mental. On top of exercising, one should indulge in a healthy diet and drink plenty of water on a regular basis.
