Hollywood Legends Photos From The Golden Age Of Cinema

Hollywood, home of the proud American film industry. The lights are blinding and so is the fame. So many stories are left untold behind the red velvet curtains and all there is that the general public has are photos. Photographs help give a good picture of what happens in the real lives of the rich and famous.

Celebrities live such intricate lives they cannot help but have the public eye on them. The most interesting stories are behind these Hollywood legends photos. The best pictures of them are often in black and white, rich with tales to tell the world for generation to come.

Marilyn Monroe is an icon that has been celebrated in pop culture even to this day. A famous snapshot taken while filming The Seven Year Itch has Monroe emerged from a theater in New York in Lexington Avenue. A breeze passed by lifting Monroes skirt while on lookers try to take a peak.

A famous portrait that also adorns the bedroom walls of almost every teenage girl is a portrait of Audrey Hepburn. This portrait is so iconic so much pop art is made referencing the photo. It is a shot of Hepburn from the torso up on her black dress, with a diamond necklace and a tiara adorning her hair on a bun, her right hand propping up her face and a cigarette holder on her left hand. This portrait was taken for the movie Breakfast at Tifannys

James Dean and Dennis Stock were the perfect photographer actor duo during the golden ages. Their friendship produced some of Deans and Stocks most famous photos. A very popular one is of Dean in Times Square walking under the rain while having a cigarette. They appropriately titled the photo On Times Square.

Nothing else can stop time and freeze a love story into a moment than a photograph. A notable photo has Rock Hudson and Elizabeth Taylor where Hudson holds Liz Taylor by the shoulders really close, their face nearing to a kiss. This was for the film in 1956 called Giant one that garnered an Academy Award nomination for Hudson.

What else could be more star studded than a photo with three legendary cinema icons. A very famous photo would be one of Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogart with a laughing Marilyn Monroe on the seats of a theater. Bagall and Boggart were a celebrated Hollywood couple. This was for the movie premier of How to marry a millionaire.

You will Never Get Rich is a 1941 movie with the dancing and singing Fred Astaire. He is after all, acclaimed in the musical film industry. Every woman in Hollywood wanted a dance with Astaire. A portrait of a striking Astaire holding his bow tie and looking to the left with a charming smile was one of the more famous photos of him not on his feet and dancing.

These pictures of the golden age is a great way to go through the memory lane of cinema. Thanks to photographs we have a way to relive the beauty and elegance the golden age of American cinema has left even after its stars have passed on to the next life. These film legends will forever leave their mark in the world.
