A good pregnancy diet meal plan is important. It's important for mom as much as for baby. The baby takes the first nutrients, then mom gets the rest. Getting as much good nutrients through food is most important. If you're not getting all that you need though, through the food you eat, then your doctor will prescribe a prenatal vitamin to help you and your baby.

Eating right while pregnant is very important. You will most likely have different cravings, especially in the first few months. You may also be one that gets morning sickness, which is deceiving, because it's not something that happens just in the mornings. This sickness can be from the time you wake up until you go to bed.

Your body will gain some, about twelve to twenty pounds while pregnant, this is normal. Gaining more, unless you started off too thin, isn't good. That's one reason a doctor monitors your weight as close as they do.

You will find that eating this way even when you aren't pregnant will help you to be healthier and to help you to lose any unwanted pounds. Make sure that you discuss all eating habits, do's and don'ts with your doctor, they will be monitoring you, they'll need to know everything.
