Children: How Will Your Children Behave?

By Anna Scott

Since I was a teenager babysitting for family and friends I began to observe early on how these children's behaviors correlated so much to their parents. What were the guidelines these parents set for their children? What did they do to keep their children under control?

As a newborn your child is dependent on you for everything. They are not in need of much regulation. As they grow up that all changes and they become their own person yearning for more and more self-sufficiency. They will continue to look to you for guidance but as they age they begin to push the boundaries and see what they can and cannot get away with.

As a parent what are your decisions going to be on handling your child when they act out? All that you want is to make sure that as a good parent you make the right decisions for your child.

You hope as a parent that your child is happy. As a parent that is a big responsibility? Where do you turn to find the resources to mold your child's behavior? Will it even work? Their will be days where you just want to give up?

How your child reacts had a direct relationship to how you as a parent behave. You have a bad day at work and before you know it your child is also not having a good day. As a parent your happiness is imperative and one that reflects on your family. So work on finding your balance and your sanctity so that your children too can have theirs.
