Not A Bad Scanner For The Price

By Ava Scott

This unit is easy to use, to program and its small size is nice too. I don't think you can find a better 100 channel scanner for under $100USD.

I am so far thinking it's cool to be able to listen in. Found it quite frustrating. The audio is not the best when using the built in speaker, but excellent when using bud earphones, and they are highly recommended. I bought this for my son for Christmas. I also own a scanner, although mine is not a handheld.

I received my scanner sooner then expected. This is very complicated. I have owned scanners for over 40 years and this is the best one I have ever had. Best of luck to any and all who can master this themselves! And in the middle of the night it will wake you up with some loud noise so if you don't want to be woke up because of some loud noise don't get this item!

I haven't used the batteries for more than a couple hours before recharging, so I can't say much about the battery life. I bought this for my son for Christmas. After purchasing the codes needed at the track we found the reception to be terrible. It's small enough to carry with you anywhere & is really easy to program. This unit is perfect for smaller cities which use frequencies between 153.0000 and 169.0000 for their police communications.

The unit seems solidly built and the audio is pretty decent. Of course, direct comparison is not possible, and while we're not speaking about sensitivity or features, this unit lacks very critical function - this is not "scanner", a device where you can turn knobs, adjust various parameters, such as frequency, wideness of filter, attenuation and so on.

I would strongly suggest you buy the replacement for the 350A & C(I believe it's the 355C - it sells for 96.00 here on Amazon) as it's only about 20 bucks more & you can take it in your car & the flexible dipole window antenna(with suction cups) works far better than this one sitting on your seat, or even on the dash of your vehicle. Programming stations in was like taking a never ending test that you keep failing. Very easy to turn on/off banks and hold on certain channels/frequencies.

If you want to get specific codes for your city, you can always find them on the internet. I thought Uniden was a company that would at least acknowledge my complaint, and maybe even have some suggestions of a better product - all I got was an auto reply that I should hear from Customer Service in 2-3 business days--and then I never heard a thing. The buttons make a dull click sound like an old fashioned remote control. I received my Uniden BC72XLT scanner just yesterday and I was well pleased.
