A Gluten Free Diet Can Make Your Skin Look Its Best

By Stephan Wilmes

Your skin's beauty doesn't just depend on the products you use on it. It's also important to take care with what you put into your body. A gluten free diet could be just the thing for ensuring that the food that you choose to eat isn't adding to poor skin.

More and more people are finding that they are sensitive to the gluten in wheat. In some cases, the symptoms are mild. In other cases, they are much more severe. One thing that this sensitivity can cause is celiac disease, which is linked to dermatitis herpetiformis, a condition which causes a rash on the skin.

Psoriasis is another skin condition that can be more severe in people who have problems digesting wheat. For anyone who is experiencing skin problems, especially recurrent ones, it's worth finding out if this is at least part of the problem. Try cutting it out of your diet and see if it makes a difference in how you look and feel.

Acne is another skin problem that is often seen with gluten sensitivity. Because this sensitivity can affect different people in different ways, it can be difficult to determine if it is present. It's also possible for someone to have only a slight sensitivity which may not lead to as obvious problems as psoriasis or acne but still results in skin not being as healthy as possible.

In addition to removing gluten from your diet and eating more healthfully overall, it's also important to consider what you're putting onto your skin. Using an alkaline type of skin care can lead to a noticeable difference in appearance.

There's certainly nothing lost in trying a gluten free diet to see if you find a difference in your skin. You may just find an overall improvement which, especially when combined with an alkaline skin care, could result in you both looking and feeling like new.
