Getting the Family commited to Feng Shui Decorating

By Lydia Gibbons

Having completed a review of your home you now feel ready to redecorate using the principles of feng shui decorating. You have read the books and reviewed the website and feel confident to proceeed.

If you are to succeed with this plan you will however need to involve the whole family and this should not be forgotten.

We use the Chinese art of feng shui decorating to bring harmony and balance to our home and we cannot achieve this, if any family member of the family is in disagreement with the design choices you have made.

The family is of course made up of unique and individual people all with thier own priorities and ideas. You must determine the best way to ensure thier active involvement in the project.

If you approach it from a coaching standpoint, providing positive communication and clearly explaining what you are trying to achieve it is possible to motivate your family to get on the feng shui decorating bandwagon.

Outlining the benefits to each family member will assist as it is unlikely they will have read any of the information you have.

Any teenagers will be the first to rebel as they are normally at odds with the very first principle of feng shui decorating, de-clutter, most teenagers are very adept at cluttering.

Explain to all how you see the space in the home working as you go forward, making sure you allocate everyone thier own space with seperate space for study. Dont forget you will need storage to remove clutter if you want to succeed.

Making sure you have storage for everyones things will help to get them involved, using space under the bed and clear use of closet space will all help.

To achieve any benefits you must of course proceed and implement feng shui decorating in the home, once implemented all will benefit from the balance and harmony.
