When discussing actors based on talent and versatility, one person who I always think is at the top of the list is Edward Norton. Ever since his breakout role in Primal Fear, Edward Norton has been considered one of the more talented actors in Hollywood.
Here are some of my favorite films featuring Edward Norton in a lead or supporting role.
The first movie I would like to discuss is Spike Lee's 25th Hour. In this movie, Norton stars as a convicted man who has one day before he begins a long-term jail sentence. There is one scene in particular in this film in which Edward Norton starts going off about the different people in New York to blame and its awesome.
Another great film that happens to star Mr. Norton is The Score. This movie also stars Robert De Niro and is one of my favorite heist films of all time. If you like elaborate robbery plans, this is a good one to watch.
Showcasing his amazing versatility, Edward Norton portrays a hateful nazi (is there any other kind?) in American History X. This movie is currently ranked as number 40 of all time on the Internet movie database (imdb.com). If you are unfamiliar with the Internet movie database, it takes into account the voting of its hundreds of thousands of members in choosing the greatest films of all time. If you make it into the top 250 it is considered quite the accomplishment. If you make it into the top 50, well that's just amazing.
One film of Edward Norton's that you probably have not seen is Leaves Of Grass. This movie was released in 2009 and in a very Adaptation-esque style, features Norton playing a set of twins. One is a brilliant hillbilly drug dealer, while the other is your average Joe.
One film that I feel is definitely worth mentioning is Fight Club. This movie is in my top 10 favorites of all time, and as cool as Brad Pitt's character was, it was Norton's character made this movie what it is.
These are just some of Edward Norton's best films to date, but as the years go by I have no doubt that he will continue to churn out classic roles in his future endeavors.
