Throughout the years, few actors have accomplished as much in their careers as Jack Nicholson has. In the 1970s, he won audiences over; in the 1980s, he continued to star in classic movies and has continued the trend through the 90s and beyond.
The following movies are my favorite films starring the great Jack Nicholson.
It should come as no surprise that The Departed makes the list. Jack plays a crime boss in this film and shows us that even in his older age, he can still be a terrifying force to deal with. See this movie if you have not already.
In the 1975 cult classic One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, Jack Nicholson stars as R.P. McMurphy. It came as no surprise that he won the Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for this iconic role.
Another classic Jack Nicholson film is of course, The Shining. I don't think audiences realized how scary Jack could be prior to this Stanley Kubrick iconic horror film. If you are a fan of a genre, this is one of the most important films to see.
It would be a shame to make a list of Jack Nicholson films without giving mention to the original Batman film. The Joker was one of the most iconic characters and Jack set a high standard for comic book villains for years to come.
As Good As It Gets, is close to as good as it gets when discussing Jack Nicholson films. This movie also starred Helen Hunt and Cuba Gooding Jr at the peak of their respective careers. Jack plays the role of Melvin Udall to a tee.
Hopefully there are one or more films on this list of Jack Nicholson films which you have yet to see.
